Our Story

Adventure Acres Foundation was created to reconnect people with nature while restoring the lands we depend on. Based in Southern Colorado, our mission is simple: heal land, empower communities, and inspire a deeper relationship with the outdoors.

We believe regeneration begins with small, intentional steps — planting, teaching, restoring, and building spaces where people can experience the natural world up close.

About Our Founder — Justin Lake Whedon

Justin Lake Whedon is a designer, strategist, and lifelong outdoor enthusiast who has spent the last 25+ years in the digital world — but always returns to the mountains to recharge.

A passionate hiker, minimalist, and advocate for nature, Justin has explored hundreds of trails throughout Colorado and the American West. His love for wild spaces evolved into a commitment to protect and restore them, inspiring the creation of Adventure Acres Foundation.

Justin also shares his outdoor journey through his hiking profile on Instagram, @hikeexploretravellive, where he documents trails, landscapes, and the transformative mindset that comes from time spent in nature.
